About The Hockey Experiment

Overview

CLASSIC ARCADE FEEL & UPDATED GRAPHICS This game features old school inspired 8-bit music and classic gameplay, but is updated with fast-paced action and 3D graphics that are enhanced through the use of on-ice Power-Up Icons. These enable crazy-fast slap-shots, lightning-quick skating, and extra powerful checking. Need to score a quick two points? No problem, just skate over the on-ice “Clutch-Shot” areas where a score from this position is worth two goals!

HAVE YOUR SOUP AND EAT IT TOO Mischievous Muckety Mucks™ don’t have fun playing Hockey - or anything else for that matter - if there are a bunch of stupid rules in place; but be careful, because too much confrontation with another player might spur a fight. And we certainly wouldn’t want that to happen since we all know that fighting has no place in a gentlemen’s game such as Hockey.

BECOME THE GREATEST EVER TO GRACE THE MAGNIFICENCE THAT IS … UGHH, YOU GET THE IDEA Play for all the world-famous Hockey teams you know and love, like um … well, like the Brothzillas™, you know, the team whose mascot is a dinosaur who pukes up Minestrone soup. There are way more teams to choose from, but we can’t seem to recall the names at the moment. Any who …

THINK OF THE WONDERS THAT AWAIT Practice your skills in Exhibition Mode or shoot for the glory in Tournament Mode. Rack up enough career goals or wins to unlock cool new teams not available anywhere else. You can also earn special trophies as in-game milestones are reached, like the “Mmm, Generic Cheese Puffs” Trophy that’s awarded to those who have won their 250th game.

craving a new hockey game, I tried this out (got the expensive PC version)

first tried the game on novice but it was far too easy, think the score was 14-1 in the 1st so I cranked up the difficulty, it took about 3 periods to adjust to before I was dominating the advanced AI.

The goalies in this game are ridiculous in how terrible they are, there were games where my goalie had a flat out 0 save percentage, there's times there will be a fanned pass that happens to go to the net very very slowly and the goalie still couldn't stop it, I was wondering why there was so much emphasis on pulling the goalie in the bullet points which is strange as that's usually used as a desperation move when you're in a hockey game in order to attempt to score some comeback points, but here the extra player is by far more valuable than the goalie

I played firewagon style hockey and went 3 rounds of score around the area of 15-2 in tournament mode, for the 4th round I decided to try some New Jersey style neutral zone play to see how the AI would react, and in short they don't, so you could score 1 goal, then just hover in the neutral zone and win every game on advanced, after that it said going on to round 5, I felt very bored at that point and decided not to continue.

Did not feel it was worth anywhere near the price of admission

Great graphics for it's price, only draw back would be the PC version costs a lot more then the iPhone one. Wish I had the iPhone, oh well.

Handling is great, I would like to see the characters have more personality, but great game for a first time studio.
