With this latest expansion they have released all new and updated content, a refined skill progression tree, player housing that fits in with the asset owner ship in the game and tons more options for clan revenues that make fighting over resouces better than ever. While the game still has a tough learning curve on your own, if you get with a clan you can make things much easier on yourself. Here is some Pro's and Con's

Pros: Sandbox player driven events , exciting intense combat , many skills and abilities , many things to do , populated and very unique.

Cons: Unbalanced , updates take a long time to happen , bland , visually unimpressive , lag , VERY HARD TO START WHEN YOU ARE A NEW PLAYER!

Darkfall Online Is up there in today's best gaming concepts and ideas category but with such a small development team and little resource is it really possible to make a game that covers what it says it does ?

Excellent, excellent MMORPG! I have tried everything from Meridian, EQ, EQ2, AO, WoW, AoC, UO, TR, etc, etc, etc... None of them even begin to compare to how fun and involving this game is. Full loot PVP, and an amazingly huge, open world. This is what you have been waiting for!

A diamond in the rough, Darkfall Online is the kind of game many have been wanting for a long time. it is still needs work on the UI, tweaks to skilling and combat, and features that haven't made it to release. Still in its infancy, many changes and improvements are anticipated over the first months (like in any MMO) Empire building, politics, large scale war, FPS combat, and free will are the basics of this game.

First off you need to understand that DFO does just about everything differently than most of your traditional MMO's. That being said there are bound to be issues with having to deal with new interface and control styles and of course you might not like them but like anything, given substantial playing time, you grow use to it and it becomes quite intuitive. The Combat is nothing special as it is a virtual run around trying to whack your opponent using the left mouse button. The AI of the mobs is a bit suspect as there movements are quite bizzare but like everything else in this game, you get used to it. The graphics are good but not up to par with what todays games usually demonstrate or what todays crop of video cards can handle. Overall this games biggest problem would be real lack of any substantial content. The quests are rather redundant and quite boring which only leaves the pvp part of the game and that will wear on you fast. Overall i would give this game a 3.

Expect to dedicate a lot of time to this MMO. You get immersed immediately, so you have to learn fast. Fun to play, though!

Pros: Full loot!. Free For All PvP.

Almost no instances(only dungeons have them of wat i know of)

Extremely detailed and fantastic design of the world, you will never get bored of exploring(this is imo)

Fun going on raids with friends and whipping some alfar ass :D.

The game is stable fps with large number of players on screen.

99% stable client.

Can have your own city/hamlet!. Edit: Now village and house!

For once in a game there are vehicles! and yes even boats!.

Pretty awesome mounts.

Some pretty wicked lighting(wen its bout to go night, you can see ur shadow stretch wayyy back, its fantasticly done).

Game is the funnest mmo i have played, well ever!.

Some alright looking graphics, they arnt amazing, but they are good enough to make you go wow once every so often.(like at a sun said over the ocean)

Use day and night at ur advantage, in night it gets really dark and enemy's cant see you.

Wanna be a mage? No worrys just pick up a staff buy or use the starter spells and cast away to level up that skill. Edit: Now you have to hit enemys to level up ur skills and spells.

No levels(not including spells and skills) and grinding.Edit: LIES there is lots of grinding, but you get to choose to do it, or go out and fight to level them up!.

There are plenty of spells

I personaly like that some mobs have loads of health and u must have like 5 people to take one down.

Killing afk macroers hahahahah.

Dark has features that are wicked awesome! Naval battles, no levels, no floating names, massive clan battles are possible, build your own city, make your own weapons, sounds can be heard from far a way, and damage to your character is visible.

So cool that you really start playing right away. The combat is a blast! It's much different from any game I've ever played.

Archery is very powerful early on. Much more powerful than magic. I highly recommend getting your archery skill up. Remember, Arrows must be manually aimed and are effected by gravity. If you are shooting at a moving target, make sure you lead the target and to aim above them.
